Frequently asked questions.
How long are the workshops?
Our photography workshops typically run about 2 hours, plus an additional 30 minutes for questions and discussion at the end. This gives you plenty of time to learn, practice, and get personalized feedback without feeling rushed.
Where are the workshops held?
Our basic photography workshops are held at Wheeler Historic Farm in Murray Park, a beautiful county park in the heart of the Salt Lake Valley.
Other beginner workshops take place at various locations in and around Salt Lake City.
We also offer adventure workshops in incredible destinations across the West — including Jackson Hole, Wyoming, the Bonneville Salt Flats during Speed Week, and other stunning locations throughout the Intermountain West
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes! You can pay monthly or choose to make a deposit and pay the remaining balance later. We make it easy to reserve your spot and pay in a way that works best for you. Reach out and lets discuss options.
Do you offer other workshops?
Yes! In addition to our Basic Photography Workshop, we offer focused sessions on Aperture, Shutter Speed, and ISO.
We also host destination and adventure workshops, including one in the Tetons of Wyoming and another on the Bonneville Salt Flats during Speed Week — perfect for photographers who want to take their skills on the road and capture truly unforgettable images.
What skill level are your workshops for?
Our workshops are open to all skill levels — from complete beginners to experienced photographers looking to refine their craft. Each session is structured so everyone gets personalized guidance at their own pace.
What kind of camera do I need to bring?
Any camera with manual controls (DSLR, mirrorless, or even advanced compacts) will work great. We’ll show you how to get the most out of the camera you already own — no need to rush out and buy new gear.
What should I bring to the workshop?
Bring your camera, fully charged batteries, memory cards, comfortable walking shoes, weather-appropriate clothing, and an adventurous spirit! A tripod is highly recommended for low-light and “Rivers” long-exposure sessions.
What happens if the weather is bad?
We adapt! Many of the best shots come from dramatic skies and moody conditions. If weather prevents shooting entirely, we’ll reschedule when possible.
Can I get one-on-one instruction?
Yes! Most workshops include hands-on help in small groups, but you can also add a private one-on-one session for more personalized coaching.
